Dear person in charge of Television Schedule and Microwave Programming:
Every Thursday night now, I have a problem. I'm not sure why they've decided that all good television must air on Thursday night, but here we have it.
My computer records:
Smallville (8-9)
Scrubs (8:30-9)
Grey's Anatomy (9-10)
The Office (9-9:30)
30 Rock (9:30-10)
Lost (10-11)
ER (10-11)
The Daily Show (11-11:30)
Yes, that's 6 hours (4 hours w/o commercials) of television in one night! How in the world am I supposed to watch all of that? You may say, since its recorded, I could spread it out over the weekend. The problem with that is, I don't want to be the guy on Friday morning at work, that misses out on all the good watercooler conversation, cause "I didn't see it yet".
So please, Television people; spread it out a little bit. Wednesdays are pretty open, you can go ahead and move Lost back to Wednesday Night's. There's only so much medical TV you can take in a day so please split ER and Grey's Anatomy up (careful to avoid Monday Night's House). Smallville should be careful to avoid Heroes (I enjoy Smallville, but as far as superhero epics go, it can't compare). Scrubs, unfortunately, we won't have to worry about since the Series Finale was just aired. Just spread it out to 2 hours of good TV all week long, that's all I'm asking.
Thank you.

Simple solution - take Fridays off.
I found that the solution for me was to become more selective. For now, the only show I really NEED to see each week is LOST (at least since 24 got delayed and Chuck is on hiatus). The rest of it, I just don't have time for...even shows I used to enjoy like ER.
when folks at work start talking about these shows before I have a chance to watch them on my DVR, I usually just give them a karate chop to the trachea. it works well.
but this week is different... my dvr decided to lock up at some point on thursday and didn't record the two hour block between my name is earl and 30 rock...
I'm... less than pleased.
