Friday and Saturday

Friday June 8, 2007
10:00a - Had a little bit of cereal and finished off the rest of Donnie Darko
1:30p - Scott, Laura and I went to this american restuarunt called Kickin' Ass (Cause Everybody Could Enjoy a Little Ass), had lunch and played a little bit of pool. Guess who won . . . :)
3:00p - Laura and I enjoyed the beach while Scott had his salsa lesson. After the lesson Scott came back and met some young women, who he and Laura chatted with for a little while as I got some more sun. The girls told them about this Miss Las Terrenas pagent at some bar on Saturday nite.
5:30p - Headed back to the house cleaned up and hung out a bit before having a really nice dinner down by the pool with a very nice guy that is renting up here on the hill named Wernie, and a friend of his from Santo Domingo.
10:00p - After dinner we watched the movie The Jerk over at Scott's house and turned in.

Natalie Portman's 26th Birthday (Saturday June 9, 2007)
10:00a - Starting to have a little bit of a morning routine, have a little cereal in the main house and chat a little bit before lunch.
12:00p - Started heading up towards Las Galaras which is a little town way on the eastern top of the Samana penninsula.
12:45p - Stopped in the city of Samana for a little bit of lunch. This time I finished all the pasta, but was quite full for the rest of the way.
2:00p - Arrive at Devil's Mouth which is basically the top of a cave formation which starts down at sea level. So from the top of the rock (where we were) there is a large hole in the ground that when the waves crash into the cave below, it blows a very strong column of wind out the top. I prefer to call it "The Place Where the Earth Farts" and I think it seems more appropriate. I'm not sure what that translates to in spanish though.
2:40p - We arrive at the beach in Las Galaras and walk around and take some pictures there for a bit.
4:00p - We head back home, stopping again in the city of Samana for a little bit of Ice Cream.
6:30p - Head into the pool for an evening swim before dinner.
8:00p - Have a little dinner and watch some CNN (I actually took a little nap before the pagent)
10:30p - Went out to a bar where they were hosting the Miss Las Terrenas pagent. The show didn't actually get started until closer to midnite, and was really a couple of girls walking twice around on top of the circular shaped bar. It was an interesting nite to say the least.
