10:00a - Had a little bit of cereal and finished off the rest of Donnie Darko
1:30p - Scott, Laura and I went to this american restuarunt called Kickin' Ass (Cause Everybody Could Enjoy a Little Ass), had lunch and played a little bit of pool. Guess who won . . . :)
3:00p - Laura and I enjoyed the beach while Scott had his salsa lesson. After the lesson Scott came back and met some young women, who he and Laura chatted with for a little while as I got some more sun. The girls told them about this Miss Las Terrenas pagent at some bar on Saturday nite.
5:30p - Headed back to the house cleaned up and hung out a bit before having a really nice dinner down by the pool with a very nice guy that is renting up here on the hill named Wernie, and a friend of his from Santo Domingo.
10:00p - After dinner we watched the movie The Jerk over at Scott's house and turned in.
Natalie Portman's 26th Birthday (Saturday June 9, 2007)
10:00a - Starting to have a little bit of a morning routine, have a little cereal in the main house and chat a little bit before lunch.
12:00p - Started heading up towards Las Galaras which is a little town way on the eastern top of the Samana penninsula.
12:45p - Stopped in the city of Samana for a little bit of lunch. This time I finished all the pasta, but was quite full for the rest of the way.
2:00p - Arrive at Devil's Mouth which is basically the top of a cave formation which starts down at sea level. So from the top of the rock (where we were) there is a large hole in the ground that when the waves crash into the cave below, it blows a very strong column of wind out the top. I prefer to call it "The Place Where the Earth Farts" and I think it seems more appropriate. I'm not sure what that translates to in spanish though.
2:40p - We arrive at the beach in Las Galaras and walk around and take some pictures there for a bit.
4:00p - We head back home, stopping again in the city of Samana for a little bit of Ice Cream.
6:30p - Head into the pool for an evening swim before dinner.
8:00p - Have a little dinner and watch some CNN (I actually took a little nap before the pagent)
10:30p - Went out to a bar where they were hosting the Miss Las Terrenas pagent. The show didn't actually get started until closer to midnite, and was really a couple of girls walking twice around on top of the circular shaped bar. It was an interesting nite to say the least.

Wednesday and Thursday
Wednesday June 6, 2007
10a - Slept in a little bit. Got up, hung around the house.
11:30a - Went into town did a little bit of banking and grocery shopping. Picked up Scott and came back home for a little bit of lunch.
1:30p - Headed out to Playa Bonita which was a little bit further out from town and less populated and spent the afternoon swimming and lying out on the beach.
6:00p - Came back to the house for a nice dinner by the pool.
8:00p - Watched most of the beginning of Donnie Darko, which is a wonderful yet creepy movie
10:30p - Went out for a nite at La Bodega which is like a bar/nightclub with a live band and plenty of dancing.
12:00a - La Bodega closed up shop (there's a new law in all of the Dominican Republic that all bars/clubs are closed at midnite on weekdays and 2a on weekends) so we went home and to bed.

9:30a - Got up and had a little bit of breakfast
11:45a - Scott gave Laura and me a ride over to El Portillo where my grandmother lives to meet with her for lunch. We meet her and she her house and head over to an italian restuaunt on the beach.
12:15p - Have a nice lunch with my grandmother (Oma) and her "assistant". At the end I felt a little badly because even though lunch was delicious I couldn't eat all of it, and I think the owner of the restaurant got the impression that I didn't like it. To make matters worse when we were saying goodbye to my grandmother, I accidentally left the box of leftovers on the table =S Oops, oh well.
2:00p - We call Scott to pick us up at the beach, and we return home for an afternoon swim at the pool.

Monday and Tuesday
So, I haven't been updating the blog as often as i'd hoped I would, and the upload speed here with the satellite internet is pretty bad, so I'm not sure how well the pictures are going to work. But, today is Friday so let's have a week-recap.
Monday June 4, 2007 -
3:15a Wake-up get ready and head out to the airport
6:00a Get on the plane to Punta Cana
6:10a Find out the plane is actually on the way to Pittsburgh to pick up some more people
10:30a Land in Punta Cana make our way through customs. My eye is caught by a man holding a sign with ROBERTO GOTSCHALL written on it. Booya! Follow him to a truck, truck takes us to the domestic flights, jump into a little (4 seater) plane. I got to sit in the co-pilot seat. :)
11:30a Finally, arrive at the El Portillo airport where my mother was waiting
1:00p Scott arrives home from work, we go into town and have lunch at Pizza Playa, come home and hit the pool.
6:00p Dinner and discussion
7:30p We start up the Steven Wright DVD followed by the Demetri Martin DVD and CD, Laura doesn't quite make it through either, and we call it an early nite.
Tuesday June 5, 2007 -
8:00a get up and hang around the house having a little bit of breakfast and chatting with Mom.
1:00p Scott get's home, we have some lunch and hit the beach.
5:30p It starts to rain a little bit so we decide to call it a day, and stop over at a little restauraunt that is run by some people my brother knows for a quick bite. We run into my grandmother while we're there (I think she was very surprised to see me) but we make plans to have lunch on Thursday
6:30p Get back home, have a real dinner and exploding dessert
8:00p Watch the Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill DVD and head to bed
Alright, that's all I have time for for now, got to get Friday started! =)

Trip to the Dominican Republic
On Monday, i'll be heading back out to visit family in the Dominican Republic. I'm going to try to keep everybody up to date on the trip by posting pictures and stuff throught the two weeks here on this blog. But for now i've got one more day of work, and an intense weekend of gaming coming up before the big trip. W00t!
